Dear Alexander,

Mummy got half day off today & took you for your 1 year check-up today, 1 week before your birthday so that you don't get jab on your birthday.

You weighed in at 9.67 kg. And is now 75 cm in height.You had Japanese encephalitis vaccines, and cried for only 2 sec. You are such a brave boy, mummy is really proud of you darling. You are such a friendly, happy & healthy lil boy. The doctor had no concerns. Daddy & mummy will just keep doing what we're doing!

After the doc appointment, we went for breakfast @ HK Causeway Bay Restaurant. That's the Durian Puff that you did not like much. But you had your Heinz's breakfast yogurt, 1 half boiled eggs & egg tart.After that, we went for some grocery shopping @ Cold Storage. Since it was still quite early, you spent some time at the mini playground on the 1st floor.Mummy realize you have grown into such an independent lil boy. You wanted to explore all the play things by yourself. Mummy had to let you go although was worried that you will hurt yourself.

Travel & adventure

I would like to write a bit about my love for travel & adventure. Which is definitely influence by my parent. Every single school holiday, the whole family will be off to somewhere... No matter FAR or NEAR... that's why when I was younger, I could never understand why NO ONE else go for vacation except for my family although I'm not from a RICH family. I traveled the whole of Malaysia even before I went to high school. Those road trip were just awesome. We would stop by for a swim at some waterfall.

By the time I finished high school, I've traveled to most of our neighboring country. Once SPM was over I flew to INDIA & stayed there for 2 months serving at the Baha'i Lotus Temple. Then volunteered as a teacher in Thailand (a Baha'i school) for 1 month before starting college. All the expenses paid by my parent & the experience are etched forever in my mind. I've learn so much. Being in a country so much POORER than us really make me appreciate what I had at home.

From young, "EDUCATION is the KEY to SUCCESS" & "KNOWLEDGE is POWER" are instill in our mind. But the weird thing is, my parent never check our homework or send us for tuition. They don't even care when I was 3rd.. from last... keke... I still remember although it happen in primary 1. ooo... did I tell you, my parents went to school & told the teachers that I was not supposed to be canned even if I don't answer her correctly or failed in exam. I had the GREATEST MUM I tell you.

And my parent ~~forced~~ send me for Piano Lesson but I stop at Grade 8. I was also in Computer classed. I was the only 1 in primary school who owned a computer (that was in 1986 where the teachers don't even know computer exist). I was so proud to be able to print HUGE banner for school party hehehhee... using dot-matrix-printer le.

Although I get to travel, hav piano & computer lesson but from young I don't have the luxury of buying clothes or other material stuff. I wore mostly hand-me-down. I had to work for extra pocket money. I teach piano lesson & gave English tuition class. That really made us appreciate the value of money & encourage us to think before spending it as it really is HARD EARN MONEY.

I owe everything to my parent. What I am today is all because of them. I love you, Mummy & Daddy!!!

Going nuts for Coconut Juice during pregnancy

I was told by quite a few ppl that drinking coconut juice during the last trimester of pregnancy is good. And coconut juice is said to reduce jaundice in baby. Well, all my siblings have jaundice, and I do hope it does not run in the family.

My dad has been bringing me coconut when he's visiting Kuching. And I order coconut drink whenever possible. I like the cooling feeling when drinking coconut. The cheapest is at Lee's Coffee shop @ Jln Song, only RM2.50 per coconut. Then can enjoy eating the coconut flesh too. At other places, it's usually just a cup of the coconut juice with ice & it taste slightly better bcoz they add sugar lar.

Well, I've been reading on the benefit of drinking coconut, and here I wanna share an article that explained it all:

In many tropical countries, coconuts have long been lauded as having fertility and pregnancy enhancing properties. In India, for example, a woman hoping to conceive will go to her priest for a special coconut; Thai babies receive, as their first solid food, three spoonfuls of soft coconut meat from their priests; a Balinese woman is forbidden to touch a coconut tree for fear she will drain its fertility into her own; and pregnant women from tropical countries consume large amounts of coconut water, hoping to increase their unborn child's strength and vitality.

Folklore aside, there is now scientific evidence of the numerous health benefits of coconuts. While these health-boosting properties extend to everyone, they can be particularly beneficial to pregnant women. Here are some of the amazing ways the coconut can be a pregnant woman's best friend:

o It alleviates vomiting - coconut water has long been used as a remedy for typhoid, malaria and other illness-induced vomiting. Thus, it should also help mitigate a bad case of morning sickness.

o It soothes the stomach - in addition to offering some relief from vomiting, coconut water can quell a queasy tummy and lessen the symptoms of nausea.

o Virgin coconut oil balances blood sugar and controls diabetes - this also helps keep morning sickness in check and offers some protection against gestational diabetes, a potentially dangerous condition common among pregnant women.

o It alkalizes the body - high in potassium, magnesium and other alkalizing minerals, coconut water can help to create an environment more conducive to conception and perhaps even reduce the risk of miscarriage.

o It keeps the body hydrated - nature's "sports drink", coconut water replaces fluids and minerals lost during physical exertion as well as those extra needed to help support pregnancy and expanding blood volume. Dehydration can be particularly threatening during pregnancy.

o It is a mild laxative - drinking moderate amounts of coconut water can help to keep things running smoothly and relieve the constipation so common during pregnancy.

o It cleanses the kidneys and offers protection against UTI's - Urinary Tract Infections are very common during pregnancy and can be dangerous if antibiotics are not used to treat them. Best to avoid them all together!

o It keeps the body cool - with excess weight, progesterone, and anxiety, it's easy to get overheated during pregnancy. Drinking coconut water helps to regulate body temperature and keep you cool.

o It is great for skin - virgin coconut oil can be applied to soothe the dry, itchy skin associated with pregnancy; it may also help to reduce the occurrence of stretch marks; and, when applied to the perineum in the weeks leading up to labor, can help reduce tearing during birth. Coconut water applied to the face helps to clear blackheads and acne that many women experience with the surge of hormones during pregnancy.

o It boosts the immune system - virgin coconut oil is comprised of nearly 50% lauric acid, which has been shown to have antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. This can help protect a mother-to-be from a host of potentially threatening infections as well as boost her immunity, which is naturally weakened during pregnancy.

o It promotes healthy lactation - the only other significant source of lauric acid is human breast milk. Research has shown that lactating mothers who consume virgin coconut oil and other coconut products have higher levels of lauric and capric acids in their breast milk; this increases its antimicrobial and immune boosting properties, while promoting both brain and bone development in the infant. Since the body stores lauric acid in the adipose tissues, consuming coconut during pregnancy may also help to ensure successful lactation.

With all that in mind, pregnant women would be nuts not to go for coconuts!

wow... it has been a looooooooooooong time since I update this blog. I don't update Project 365 here anymore, as I find that using facebook is easier. So head on over to my facebook's photo for Project 365 if you are interested.

Well, I'm now in my gestational week 33, another 7 weeks to go, but it's quite common for baby to pop-out at 2 to 3 week earlier. I hope everything will go smoothly when the time come.

I'll like to recap the "happenings" of these few months here as I surely will forget most of the detail :P

After celebrating our 10th year anniversary of togetherness (21 Aug 09), we decided that the time is right for us to try for a baby. What with news of impending increment & promotions, the timing was just perfect. I know I know $$ is not everything, but a person like me think quite a lot & with those extra $$ I'm more comfortable bringing a BB into this world. I want BB to enjoy a good childhood. We are READY for the challenge.

I was pretty busy during the month of September as the project that I'm working on since June is closing on the release date which is on OCT. Since June, I've been working weekends & goin back home late slaving for this project.

Before even my period due date, I was feeling different. My boobs were sore. I started to vomit a bit after taking a sip of water in the morning. But surely I'm just over thinking this too much. We have just started to try, how can so fast got result?? So I ignored it at 1st. And I wanted to finish all the "work related task" at my hand 1st. And finished it I did. I was prepared for the pregnancy test. My period was 1 week late.

So on the 10th of Oct, picked up a home pregnancy kit test from guardian. was pretty excited but scared at the same time too...

2 pink lines meant we ARE pregnant!!! Hubby was really happy & beaming with joy. He have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Can't believe all this is happening... so fast!

Went for my 1st checked up at KPJ on the 17th Oct. I choose KPJ as it's so near to our home, very convenient. After the normal BP & Urine test, we saw bb for the 1st time on the monitor. At 8 weeks, we only saw a bean like shape thingy, 0.867 cm in length. But we could hear baby's heartbeat... beating very fast... must be excited too hehehhe. After hearing the heartbeat, I'm finally able to accept that a BABY is really GROWING inside me.

Starting from pregnancy week 10 onwards, I was suffering from morning sickness... BAD morning sickness. But hubby said it's more appropriate to call it ALL DAY SICKNESS as I vomit all day long. After every meal I'll start to feel bad. Then I would have to rush to the toilet. Mr. Toilet & I dated for almost 10 weeks. Was eating in small portion as I get full easily, but gets hungry soon after. Hubby was complaining I was making him FAT as he had to finish what I cannot eat muahahahah... Plain water make me sick too so Ribena & I became good friends.

By pregnancy week 20, I was feeling so much better already. I can finally enjoy my food. And I don't have to eat in small portion anymore. I'm BACK to my normal eating routine. SO HAPPY! By now, doctor can determine the sex of the baby. As it was a momentous event, Hubby took leave and went for the doctor's check-up with me on the 12th Jan 2010. During the scanning, doc showed us baby's head, spine, leg, buttock... it's very visible now. So happy that BB looks healthy. As baby was proudly showing us the view of the cute ass, we don't know whether BB's a flower or a bird. Then the doc suddenly shake the tummy to move the baby, and sure enough the baby move and the doc pointed to us a little birdie...

Have been feeling slight movement from BB, more like a funny wriggling sensation in the tummy. It was weird at 1st. But now I imagine BB waving at me! Took the Glucose Tolerance Test, pass with flying colors :) had to fast for 12 hours & drank 1 full cup of sugar water yaks.

Pregnancy Week 24 (8th Feb 2019), I'm now ~62 Kg, gained 7 kg in total (from starting of pregnancy). Enjoying too much food I think muahhaha bcoz my tummy is showing a slight hump only. My arm & thigh are PACK with FAT... sigh. Baby's strong flying kicks can be felt by hubby. But usually BB will stay quiet once hubby place his hand over my tummy.

Pregnancy Week 28 (10th Mar 2010), I've gained 2 kg in 1 month. Am now 64 kg. Hubby called me Jabba the Hutt! Tummy size has increased a lot... in the 3rd trimester now. Seeing the doc every 2 weeks. After doc measured BB's head, tummy and limbs, he said that BB is at a healthy weight of 1 kg. Finding a comfortable sleeping position is getting very hard. The many trips to the bathroom at night is really tiring. Bought some BB's clothes at Anakku @ Greenheight. Hubby is placing a lot of importance on exercise so we hav been goin for walks in the park ~15 to 20 minutes of moderate fast walking.

Pregnancy week 32 (7th Apr 2010), I'm now 66.5 kg (gained 2.5kg in a month). BB now weight ~1.8kg. Doc said he will be ~3kg during birth. Once, BB held wild gymnastic parties, now BB's movement has become slower, such as elbow & knees, I think the space has become cramped. BB is very aware of the surrounding. If music is loud, BB will start to dance :) especially when I watch America Idol. Sometimes I can feel BB having hiccups. Took another Glucose Tolerance Test, pass with flying colors again :) :) :)

Now at pregnancy week 33, I'm getting very excited to meet BB. With 7 weeks to go, I pray to God we can have a smooth sailing journey.

I live on Yogurt early in my pregnancy as I can't drink plain water... it will auto purge. And the sweetness of the yogurt gave me energy too when I was dating the toilet bowl. Luckily that phase has passed.

After my medical check-up take took ages @ KPJ, we went to pick up some goodies from POSLAJU! That little box cost RM1250. Off we went to the workshop for the new parts to be installed on the handsome 8. I saw an Impala there. It was a sight to behold.

This is my book haul for the month of Dec 2009.

The bottom 6 books were bought at the Times Book Fair at Pullman for only RM30. The book Baby Bliss by Dr. Harvey Karp was picked by hubby.

The next 2 books, The HOST & Man and Wife were bought from a friend who was having garage sales. 2 books for RM20.

The top 6 books were from Popular Bookstore, my fav. They always have offers & I'm a member too so I can get extra 10% discount. I've finished reading 2 books by Dorothy Koomson & Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult. I can't wait to start on the 2 books by Sydney Sheldon, 1 of my fav writer. And I would like to finished reading The Time Traveler's Wife before watching the movie. I heard it's a good read. Those 6 books cost RM150 after the discount.

This is me... at 20 weeks of pregnancy (that's like half way already)! I'm so excited. Ever since the puking stop ~3 weeks ago, I started to packed on the kgs... and now the protruding bump can be seen liaw...

That's why I have stop blogging for some time as I don't have the energy... dating the toilet bowl for more than 2 months took all my breath. If you cannot find me at the washroom, then I'm resting on my bed as I just feel very uncomfortable after EVERY SINGLE MEAL! As hubby put it, I don't have morning sickness, but suffering from ALL DAY SICKNESS!

I'm glad that dreaded phase has passed & now am getting hungry every 2 hours hahahaa

I thank god for the gift of life. I'm trilled, excited, yet nervous & scared at the same time. I pray everyday that the baby will be happy & healthy.

Shopping at tHe Spring! Tomorrow night, 8 Jan is our company dinner... Hubby wanna dressed following the theme for the night. We headed straight for our fav store, Parkson.

So, 1st up was the jacket. He tried on the double-breasted jacket & it was a perfect fit. As hubby's don't have a black pant, he wanted to go CASUAL, as in jeans & loafer with the jacket. But since we were already there, I gave him the Bonia pants to try as well & it was just perfect too... not like the ones we tried earlier on. So... if we get the pants, it means we have to get a black shoe as well bcoz his shoes sudah RIP. It was getting late, we don't want to walk around anymore, so hubby just went over & picked a Bonia Leather Shoe... luckily there were discounts, or else we would have to pay ~RM9xx.

Our company dinner, was held at Borneo Convention Centre. Master Yet was so kind to pick us up. YES to car pool! The theme of the night was Casino Royale (James Bond Movie) & the official color for the night was Black, Red & Gold. When I saw the way the COO & HR Director was dressed, quickly I pushed hubby over to take a photo with them. COO is the one standing in the middle. Make me wanna sing " Long pang! Long lau!" when I see the photo hahahahhah... Hubby looking very smart, making yesterday shopping quite worth it lar... Me? well I can't fit into my dress **sob sob** (certain "place" storing too much fat), so the last minute I had to search high & low for a stretchable black shirt & skirt to match hubby.

The venue was very grand... spacious & the decor was elegant. Food was ok lar... but we din really enjoyed the dinner as the lights was turned off quite frequently when the stage performance was goin on. Hard to eat when u can't see the food!

Overall it was a FUN night... it's not frequent ppl dressed to the nines le...

Durian party! Yummylicious! All sort of durian was available... sweet, bitter sweet, milky soft, creamy dry, yellow, white meat or orange meat etc... It was just AWESOME! Now can get 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 durians for only RM10! Faster grab before the season end.

I have decided to start this PROJECT 365 where I will take (at least) one picture everyday day for the whole year and posting it to this blog. Project was started by Taylor McKnight on 1st Jan 04. It will be a FUN way to remember the year and also to help me understand what is important to me in my life.

This entry will be the final entry in my blog for 2009 --> my attempt at keeping the 2009 New Year Resolution.

To recap, here's my 2009 Resolution:

1. Exercise & keep fit! --> Passed

The new spanking badminton racket is collecting duct in a corner... as I got a Wii now.. hahah.. So I can play ping pong, go kayak, a round of 100 pin bowling, golfing and much more all in the comfort of my own air-con room muahahaha

2. Take better care of my skin --> Passed

hm.... based on friend's comment, my skin condition has improved... so that means I must be doin good lar.

3. Travel to a new place --> Failed

Oh well... with the sudden economy down turn & the sudden increase with my work load during mid year, we hav decided to put on hold all our vacation plan (except celebrating our engagement anniversary in Singapore & my birthday in Damai Puri, both places are not new though)

4. Do or learn something new --> Failed

Everything seems to be related to $$ & I can't seem to get through to my people ** BIG sigh**. But the Project that started in Jun was really FUN but very challenging at the same time as new processes need to be qual & a lot of trouble shooting was required before stabilizing the process of the "super tight schedule" project. Glad was involved, hopefully it will be generating lotsa income for the company next year so that we can hav BONUS!

7. Have more control on my $$ --> 50% pass

We have started to save to pay off our PTPTN (government study loan) which we hav neglected for the past 6 years (the amount of interest charge that accumulated was so SCARY) as the form submitted for auto-deduct from our salary was not implemented & it was hard to find out how to pay the stupid loan from the PTPTN office (a lot of ding ding dong)... I just gave up until I received a warning letter. So now we are trying to pay it off. We hav save & paid like 20K for these 2 years. 70K to go sienzzzzzzz

8. Finish my Ruhi Book 6 --> Failed

Hav been looking for a NEW group to join but WORK has taken so much of my time (i know i know it's an excuse). Will extend this resolution to 2010.

9. Be thankful for what I already have --> Passed

I'm still very happy where I am in my life. I'm glad for all the people in my life that are always there, full of support & love. I thank GOD for blessing my life & for everything.

Summary: Almost 50% of my resolution were more or less considered achieved lar :)
Now to make my 2010 resolution!

I just throw in the herbs & chicken & 2 cups of water & let it simmer for 2 hours....

I was craving for some home cook food, so I headed straight to The Nyonya Stall at the Food Bazaar, tHe Spring. I had Herbal Chicken Soup RM5.80, as I was missing my mum's awesome soup. If you are like me craving for home cook food, you can have your fix here. There were kacangma, curry, rendang, fish head curry & kangkong. The food changes everyday. You only need to add RM1 for the rice. Nothing much special but the price and portion is reasonable. Beef Noodle is another stall that I like to patron, the Homemade Beef Noodle RM5.50 is very nice. The noodle texture very Q.
I find that the food court is still a good place to eat especially after shopping. It's also a good place hanging out with friends.

2 weeks ago, I had a really wonderful lunch @ Home Made Specialties, Ang Cheng Ho with hubby's family. Locate at a corner shop opposite The Elephant. They offer steamed dishes, mostly in clay pot. I was apprehensive at 1st as it was open air & HOT le. Hubby's Aunt ordered most of the dishes & we were ushered up to the 2nd floor. I was very surprise to be greeted with this:

And it was air-conditioned le. Very clean & nobody else is around. Yay! While waiting for food to arrive, the monkeys made funny faces...Esther's food, Heng Hua Mee. She like noodles alot. Steamed Minced Pork RM6, it was fully loaded with salted fish, u can taste it with every bit. And the chili padi... power. Very small portion nia.

Herbal Chicken Soup RM6, I loved soup a lot.

Pig's Tripe Soup RM6, full of pepper. It was HOT HOT HOT! The "hu ju pork" or fermented beans pork stew (I made up that name bcoz I forgot what it's called) was very different. The taste is very strong, hubby hate it, good for me as I can eat more la. Others were commenting the kacangma was so-so only as my MIL can do better hahahah.

The price here is a bit more expensive than others but there are a lot of varieties... Despite the price tag, this place has a fair number of customer, who by the way prefer siting at the ground floor "open-air" Kopitiam la.

Had breakfast with hubby's Grandpa & Aunt. Supposed to try out a new Chicken Rice outlet @ RH Plaza, BDC but we could not locate the shop... so we went to the BEST chicken rice shop we know,
Hainan Street Restaurant, BDC.

We got 2 types of Chicken, Steamed & Roasted, RM10.80 each. YUM!

Fried Sabah yu-chai RM6.00, the taste a bit weird at 1st bcoz they used fermented bean, but after a few bite, i quite like it.

Toufu with Century Egg RM3.50... with a generous topping of fried garlic! Surprisingly good.

Quite a heavy breakfast le, but as we all know, BREAKFAST is the MOST IMPORTANT meal of the day ma... Total damage: RM39.10

Went for food shopping at Cold Storage. The place very the quiet le... will go bankrupt or not this place??? And they stopped stocking up on the Bulla Ice-cream, so sad. We bought the usual stuff like fruits, non-halal stuff :P, etc. I even got a few cans of this CALORIE FREE Creamy Root Beer from Diet Hansen's. RM2.90 per tin for NO Carbs, No preservatives, No sugar, make u think what u get rite?
Currently, Cold Storage is giving away a coupon for every RM30 spent. wow... now I only need to collect 21 more to redeem the Crystal Wine Glass... If you guys hav it & not gonna use it, donate it to me eh???Then headed for a car pampering session... Wash & Vacuum @ TOC, where we get complimentary lime juice & also a nice comfortable sofa for us to read the newspaper... it's the only time I get to read & laugh about our exciting "local news"

Went to pick up another parcel... from Poslaju, it's opened the whole day on Saturday le.The name card that came with the parcel was very creative... a Focus Test Chart on the opposite side. Something useful for hubby.nah....SexyLips, u always asked which coffee beans to buy for cappuccino, well here is it... Espresso, from Starbucks.It's whole bean coffee but they will grind it for you...Spent the rest of day watching a lot of TV... new season of ANTM, Gossip Girls & House. Couch potato is ME!

Ting Noodle, Ban Hock Road

I had the infamous Taiwan Stew Beef Noodles, ~RM5 @ Ting Noodle, along Ban Hock Road (opposite Continental Hotel) with friends. Side-dish of fried dumplings was awesome. Got Milk Tea with pearl too... ah.... that was good too...

This is not the sweet type like the ones offered at Lam's Place. Some people commented that it taste almost like the Beef Noodles at Taiwan. What a compliment le! I dunno as I've not been to Taiwan. The noodle's texture is nice & the soup taste Ok, but I find that the stew beef are cut into quite big pieces & sometimes it's quite tough la.

When people ask me about Ting Noodle House, I'll tell you that the owner, also the cook is very unique. Once you stepped into that shop, you will not missed him one. He wears a white headband all the time that holds his "REALLY BIG CURLY" hair together.

We started with Frisbee and taught her the A & B button... the rest was history. This was Esther's 2nd game & she already got 116 marks, playing all by herself... She got 3 spare & 1 Strike!!! I'm so proud. Daddy lose as it was his 1st game.

Even MIL played too & we had a lot of laughter playing Canoeing.... hahhahah...

As I kept complaining about the quality of the Wii projection, hubby finally did something about it and now the image quality is so good... He bought NEW wires, did his magic & I'm so happy the complaining works :) Bcoz I'm begining to think about PS3 for my Guitar Hero World Tour, now no need to waste $$ liau

Still remember I blast the stewpig sales assistant at Parkson when I went "Pan Shopping" that I decided to just buy some cheap ass frying pan, neh those Superstore selling super cheap China made stuff, where I was so happy bcoz I just save like RM350. Well, that cheap pan BERKARAT aka rusty after like 3 months of used... that's why I dun cook anymore. Now it seems like I just waste RM33 liaw for that stewpig pan.

So little choice when it comes to pan suitable for Induction Hub....with the PARKSON sales goin on, we got no choice but go back & checked out the Maxim pan again. We decided to buy the pan as it was on 20% discount.
I started to cook again... hahaha... yea frying eggs & Taiwan Sausage is called cooking ok.

Breakfast for last weekend: Egg + 2 chix sausage and Coffee + Orange juiceand hubby's fav... Coco Crunch + corn flakes

with milk... MUST be with COLD milk 1...

And some vitamin from Langsat...

So now I'm gonna start to try very hard and see how many meal I can cook before something else goes WRONG again!

This happen last weekend but was too busy to update anything... actually nothing important or significant happen to me the past weeks... just FULL of WORK WORK WORK!!! This is just me updating just bcoz I got the time now hahahhahah

Breakfast consist of a bad laksa, while for hubby was this nice looking Curry Rice @ Mega Food-court (if I remember correctly at King Centre) RM4.50 from a stall with the big FU. Not really to my liking as it's Chinese Style curry & rice was soaking wet.

Went to pick something up from POSLAJU...

Could not show you what's in the box *ahem ahem* worth ~RM300 but here's 1 item that I can show lar... Chocolate mask **the pores on my face will be shouting out in unison YUM YUM**

Shopped for food @ Ta Kiong & using up a RM10 voucher I got last week. For card members, every RM1000 u spend they will auto giv you RM10 vouchers. I hav always thought Ta Kiong gave out voucher due to special promotion as this was the 4th voucher I received.

Before leaving tHe SPring, we ta pau'ed BIG Apple Donuts & Cappuccino with our own tumbler, can save RM2 per drink le. Those Starbucks Tumbler is very worth it lor, get it if you r always drinking coffee there. These past few weeks, I had finished reading 4 books by Danielle Steel: Bittersweet, Family Album, Honour Thyself & No Greater Love... overdosed wit family & lovey dovey stuff... I saw the perfect opportunity to reward myself when I spotted 20% discount (card members) for The Associate by John Grisham.

Then the phone rang... saw the dreaded name. DANG IT! HAV TO GO BACK TO WORK! arrggggggghhhhhh! And there my friend was how my day got ruined.

I was drawn into here as there was a BIG banner in front of the store with the wording FREE lychee drink... I thought it would be a good deal le, Lychee le. But then when the drink came I was shock: cis bedebah, it's those syrup drink only dang, like the free drink in our canteen! Hubby ordered Fried Kueh Tiau RM5.80... hubby only complaint that they removed the tasty fried chicken, cut cost kua... Well, my S'pore Chix Rice, SUX, too dry.Those BIG banner really works le... can get "Kiam" people like me to go in and giv them another try...

Guess what I had for appetizer before dinner? :)Roasted Lady Fingers at this stall behind Choice Premier at Premier 101 Commercial centre... yum yum. Salty & strong flavor... mayb a lot of ajinomoto la hahahahah. 4 for RM2, quite reasonable lar, all the way from CHINA bo. Our main dishes was nothing memorable, Loh Duck RM7 was a waste of money & the fried sambal kueh tiau was so-so nia.

I will be back to try the fried dumpling next time, it looks good.

My office-soul-mate GONE!

Yea, SexyLips, my partner in crime, my pantry companion, my snake... errr... I mean snack buddy has left us all high & dry. The proud Sri Aman Lang group no more liau. WHO will let me stab now? I got nobody to make FUN of anymore. I will surely miss our "girls" night out. How can u b so cruel?

And today is also the birthday of our TrendyBoss, who is just 31, according to him lar. To celebrate these auspicious occasions, who will start a new chapter in their life, we went for lunch at My Restaurant, one of my fav place to hav western food.My lunch, Lamb Shoulder RM32... a really tasty, BIG portion, even me, the "most tham chiak person in the world " had a hard time finishing it. Hubby had Aussie Chix Chop RM28 which is rich with cheese & mustard. Loved the cheese, hate the mustard. I had it long time ago & forgot to warn hubby about the mustard part. SexyLips had Pork Ribs & Bacon, he was enjoying it a lot , even using licking his finger hahhaha. We all shared & "belanja" him last lunch with us as "Lithorian"Making a wish before blowing out the candle...TrendyBoss cutting the birthday cake. See hubby's mouth... cannot wait to taste the Blueberry CakeThis is for betraying me SexyLips... who placed more importance on $$ then fren...hhmmmppp...Ended the twin celebration with a funny looking group photoBossLiau, SexyLip's very shy supervisor belanja us little ones dinner at Pai Jia Le, BDC.

The soup was so milky, I had 3 bowls of it.

3rd Uncle's Birthday

Lately I'm always get bad vibe attending family dinner... with those relatives that only see each others only a few times in a year, @ weddings/birthday/funeral/CNY, bcoz nowadays I'm always getting remarks like these:

and it always ends with "You looked so much better now!"

sigh... how come I just cannot believe their last sentence... anyway, my father's side are blessed with good genes, they never get FAT, especially the girls. I bought a size zero Levi's jeans last time from US the A but I was so wrong to think I can get into it but afraid not, my cousins all can fit into size zero no problemo, so it was not wasted la. I used to think I'm blessed with that good genes too.... until I turned 26 & my weight just keep increasing... and increasing... and increasing where I put on 10kg in a span of 4 years. Now I'm at my heaviest... which has been stable for these last 3 years. It's weird bcoz I'm still eating the same. Still cannot forgo supper. Still not exercising but I hav Wii now hehehe. So I'm now at the weight range of not thin but not too fat. Mayb it's my ideal weight **comforting self** oopppsss...sorry I digressed... I love the new me! but pls God, let me stay at this weight with me eating like I always hav been... like a ghost, a hungry ghost :)

Back to the dinner, it was held sometime last week at Li Garden @ Hock Lee Centre to celebrate my Uncle's 60th birthday. It was weird taking photo of food in front of my relative hahaha...so I only took 1 of the fresh big prawn that I ate like mayb 5 or 6 muhahahahha. As usual the food there are good, (I'm not racist but Peking duck, you are just so delicious) except for the Shark Fin's soup...the salt was free I think. Well... with food like these tempting me almost every day, how can I go on diet u tell me lar?

My very happy & proud uncle with his son & daughter & grand kid! Some came all the way back from Singapore. He was so shy when we sang happy birthday song to him. And he din wanna blow out the candle so cute! So every1 helped him.My dad was unable to attend the celebration so I was send as representative... luckily I was not asked to be in this photo. Well, those that looked like my dad are his brothers & those that look exactly like my grandma are my dad's sisters muhahahahhaha... and those that look nothing like the 1st two descriptions are the in-laws la... apa then...

Ipoh Town Kopitiam

The all new Ipoh Town Kopitiam @ Brighton Square, Jln Song, to us anyway as it's our 1st visit... and bein the mountain turtle that we are, we sat at the table waiting to be served but nobody seems to be around to take our orders... for a loooooong time. So I went to the counter & lo & behold, a "SELF SERVICE" plate was paste there... but then hubby called me over as some1 has pass him a pencil & a piece of paper where we tick on the item that we want...

It was not looking good... waiting for long to be served, and it was hot and then waiting some more for food & it's hot did I mentioned was making hubby pretty hot & pissed

Ta-daaa... our Breakfast Sets. Did you noticed the half boiled eggs was placed in the coffee cup? Both sets came with the signature Ipoh Town White Coffee, it's RM2.40 for that small cup of coffee in a Kopitiam -_-" but it taste good lar.

I was so happy when I saw POLO Bun in the menu. So I ordered the breakfast set with Polo Bun, Half Boiled Eggs & Coffee, RM6.80. I drank the eggs with lotsa pepper :) The polo bun sux, a disappointment. Luckily I did order something else...

The house specialty, Peanut Butter Toast RM1.60. they use brown colored bread, not too bad. But it's quite hard to make anything with peanut butter bad.Hubby's set came with Ham & Cheese Sandwich, RM6.20. Again they used brown bread. Hubby said it was tasteless hahahah... too bad. oh well...1st impression is very important for hubby & they were not givin the right vibe, BAD, real BAD... He will b very reluctant to be back here again soon.

Had dinner at CI2I, Stutong area... eating out every single day is very the ma-fan le... eat until dunno what or where to eat. Hubby & I alternate taking the responsibility to choose the venue for dinner.

Pork Leg Ko-lo Mee RM5. A lot of meat, even got boiled egg & green vege, very reasonable price. Thumbs up from hubby.

My Prawn Noodle RM5 or 5.50, came with 4 medium size prawn that was not fresh :( but the dish did come with alot of fish cake & 3 layer pork, but the soup... not enuf kick!

What I don't like about CI2I is that the price of drinks are too expensive, RM2 for coke le. So I told hubby that the next visit we gonna sit at Lee Coffee Shop's table & order drinks from them & get the food from CI2I. Dunno if that can be done?

Wendy is BACK!

A surprise visit from Wendy... who is back from Perth for a holiday. Our young & full of energy ex-colleague... she's so much younger ~5 years from us (Sexylips & me) but is very mature in thinking le... no bullshit, straight forward kinda girl.

Last Saturday, our 1st outing was to Bing at Jalan Keretapi, the newest branch, us girls only Wendy, Sexylips, SexyBum & me. The place was HOT in red! From outside it looks kinda huge but in actual case, the interior very small le. Lucky we were there early to grab those comfy sofa seats.

Chocolate Fudge Cake... yum yum... SexyLips even got 2nd helping of the whipped cream for me... now u know why I'm getting so fat le.SexyLips is still in the growing phrase... he ordered Panini (sandwich thingy) & warned me to stay away. Who wants that... when I got my usual Ice Blended thingy, this time it's Vanilla with lotsa whipped cream. With the member card, got 10% discount yo hoooo. Spent the night just catching up la... the last I saw her was last year CNY.Then on Sunday nite last week, we had Wii Party!

A night out @ tHe Spring shopping for SHOEs! Girls can never hav enuf of it. Visited the all-new 2nd floor... it was like stepping into Sungei Wang. The Cinema is not opened yet, but now recruiting members for RM110 (100 is Prepaid & Members Fee is RM10 (normal price is RM20). So you can purchase movie ticket at the kiosk using the prepaid card, cool le.

Before heading home, Wendy, SexyBum & me shared 2 scoops of Dessert's Ice-cream. Guava & Banana with caramel, both low fat one le... I was suggesting we get 3 scoops but Wendy reminded me of my difficulty in wearing my work pants... le sigh...And today, our night last out before Wendy depart for Perth, at Jase's Tea Room... but I don't drink tea except green tea lar...

Warm ambiance, very homey with sheer curtain & comfy settee... we got there at 8.30pm and we had the place to our self. But as the night wore on... surprisingly many more people turned up... Kuching people really like lim teh le..

While waiting for our drinks, I walked around admiring the decor... and I spotted these. Mayb it's not very clear here but there were lotsa spider web on this piece of ornament... ewww...I just could not decide on which tea to get, so I got Affogato, RM5.80. A scoop of Vanilla ice-cream, and topped with a hot shot of espresso. haha... IN the end I still stick to coffee. Affogato meant "drowned" in Italian.Wendy & SexyBum both got a pot of tea, Mango Flip & Pina Colada, RM9 per pot le. But can refill with hot water la. The waiters there are very young & super helpful. Wendy liked hers & SexyBum regret choosing Pina Colada

Baby Kai Lan in Oyster sauce RM12 (abit price hor considering it's a very simple dish that even I can prepare)Chicken soup with herbs was super awesome! Again the size we ordered was small but it came in this super BIG bowl... good for me lar as I can have 3 helping hehhehe... The "Zau Pai Tou Foo" RM10 or RM12 I forgot... very nice tou foo with minced meat. Even hubby ate the tauhu as there was no usual "bean smell" I was excited when the waitress said that LALA was available. When the dish came, I was slightly disappointed though, as it tasted so so nia. Made me missed West M'sia lala... ah... the curry & serai tasteAnd the usual steam fish... I like the fishes here bcoz it's always very fresh & no mud smell. Now you see it...Now you don't...

The photo shoot was at the playground @ MBKS. I suggested we start at 7am in the morning so that not many people around & got nice sunshine ma. Mana tau, when I reached there, quite a crowd has build up already.

Working with kids is so different. They really know how to get what they wan... and when they show their sad face, we hav to wave the white flag liaw... Man, in the end, I had to bribe them, using the sport car as bait hahahah

The eldest boy was very friendly & warmed up to us immediately & was not stingy with his smile :)

What ko-ko (elder bro) do, must follow... smiling as he can do what his bro can do. After this, it was as though a ghost came & took away his beautiful smile.

ooo... it has been a long while since I updated the books that I have manage to finish reading... looking back at my archive, since last October to be exact 0_O"

I was on a buying spree in October, then got introduced to 2nd hand books (Shalom & Book castle) , then the X-mas stall where I found 6 books by John Grisham (so lucky) & the wicked Times Warehouse Sales and lastly the impulse buy after watching Marley & Me. ooo and a few books while on vacation in Singapore last Apr.

These books are on the floor near by bed. I've sorted them.
For the past 10 months, I've finished reading 24 books... yay!
7 of John Grisham, 8 of Sarah Paretsky, 9 of random Authors.
I still got 30 more books to go, btw it's on the right side.That's why I promise myself to stop buying books, especially fictions, until I have finished all the booksBut today I was at tHe Spring & saw this MPH books promotion. I can't resist it... and ended up buying 3 hard cover books.
501 MUST VISIT ISLANDS. I need to be prepared with this knowledge when I strike MEGA Toto 1 day... may my dream come true!
If, and only if I strike MEGA Toto 1 day, I want to hav the best pools for my mansion, which btw will be design by me too... hahahah... that's why I needed the 2 books below. I've been brought up to envision our own dreams & know exactly what we want, for it to come true. Like how I got my Wii hehehhehehehehehe... just kidding. I was only looking at it with puppy eyes every single time we passed by the shop nia.I kinda blocked out the price tag oopppsss & it turned out to be freaking expensive.
But on the bright side, I save RM113.42 from the discount.

Rojak Kucei & Handsome 8 in coma

It's the table at the stall where we had a super nice breakfast sometime last week... YUP! ROJAK KUCEI! The BEST in Kuching, some say in Sarawak! It's located at Batu Lintang area, near Prince Vogue Bridal Shop.

The RM5 Rojak with the super delicious fried drumstick... yummy yum yum!

We were at Batu Lintang area to visit our sick car, in coma since 2 weeks ago. 1st, the mechanic change the car battery, RM200+. As that fail, some test were done & found that the spark plugs got issue. Had to import the plug from West M'sia, cost us RM500++. As you can see, the cracks on the plug was very visible. But unfortunately, the check engine light is still there. *&$@#$%^&*!&*%^

After more intensive test being carried out, the mechanic advise was to change the Ignition Coil. This time hubby make all the arrangement to ship the parts in from Singapore himself & it was WAY cheaper than what was quote by the mechanic (who get their spare part from other ppl). Say YES to ONLINE SHOPPING!!! Genuine parts from MAZDA, Japan that cost RM1000+. I was praying hard this will be last part change... or else we gotta rob the bank to cure the car sickness liaw...

After 2 years, this is the 1st time our beloved 8 got so sick. So after burning ~RM1800, the car is finally healthy again, thank God.

Learning to be happy doesn't have to be complicated, and it's probably best when one can enjoy the simple things. I know my own life and work get to be quite complex at times, so that trying to find satisfaction is like trying to find my way out of a maze. Yet I seem to find the greatest joy from some of the simplest things,

Are you ready for the “magical” key to happiness?

I thought so! Here goes… (drum roll, please)…

The key to happiness is simply deciding to be happy now, no matter what. That’s right, no matter what!

As Abraham-Hicks reminds us:

“We are really advocates of just getting as happy as you can be—which takes care of everything. Even if you don’t have reason to be happy—make it up. Fantasize it. Make a decision that you’re going to be happy one way or another—no matter what. ‘

Tools for Happiness

Here are some tools that I have found helpful for keeping me happy throughout my day:

Set your intentions for the day

I begin my day by making my intentions to be happy. My intentions for the day might go something like this:

Today, no matter where I am, no matter what I am doing, and no matter who I am with, it is my dominant intention to feel good.

I want to feel good today, no matter what!

I want to be happy today, no matter what!

I want to do things that make my heart sing today, no matter what!

I want to act from inspiration today, no matter what!

I want to be grateful and thankful today, no matter what!

Focus on the positive

Whenever I notice any area of my life that feels less than positive in any way, I stop in that moment and try focus on at least five things that are positive about that area instead. Ideally, I try to write these five things out. However, if this is not convenient, I simply do it mentally. What I have found is that it can turn a negative situation into a positive one.

Affirmations for happiness

I have discovered that positive “self-talk” and affirmations can also be a powerful tool for happiness.

Here are some examples of suggestions and reminders from Abraham-Hicks that can be used as positive “self-talk” and affirmations throughout the day:

“I’m going to be happy. I’m going to be glad. I’m going to smile a lot. I’m going to be easy. I’m going to count my blessings. I’m going to look for reasons to feel good. I’m going to dig up positive things from the past. I’m going to look for positive things where I stand. I’m going to look for positive things in the future. It is my natural state to be a happy person. It’s natural for me to love and to laugh. This is what is most natural for me. I am a happy person!”

The key here is to not only repeat these affirmations, but to sincerely feel them too.

Be grateful

A variation of this “Focus on the positive” exercise is to think (or write out) at least five things that I am grateful and thankful for, whenever I notice that I am feeling anything less than joy in any given moment.

Live in the present

Life is lived in the present, one moment at a time, not, in the past or future. Our futures and memories are created in all of our NOW moments. Living in the present means staying focused on what is happening now, not what happened yesterday, or may happen tomorrow.

People who focus on past: mistakes, errors in judgment, words that were said with innocence, omissions, and disappointment tend to bring a great deal of negative energy into the present.

People who focus on the future: expectations, desires, hopes and "some day dreams" tend to miss the value, joy and wonder of their present moments.

1. Listen to your body's wisdom, which expresses itself through signals of comfort and discomfort.

2. Live in the present, for it is the only moment you have. Keep your attention on what is here and now; look, for the fullness in every moment. Accept what comes to you totally and learn from it, and then let it go.

3. Take time to be silent, to meditate, to quite the internal dialogue. In moments of silence, realize that you are reconnecting to your source of pure awareness.Pay attention to your inner life so that you can be guided by intuition rather than externally imposed interpretations of what is or isn't good for you.

4. Relinquish your need for external approval. You alone are the judge of your worth; and your goal is to discover infinite worth in yourself, no matter what anyone else thinks. There is great freedom in this realization.

Today I'm not gonna talk about the Chicken Rice as I've already raved about it last year & until now still maintain it's position as #1

We just had Chicken Rice for lunch at "Jin Yuen Ti" (i forgot the English name) near Choice Daily at Stutong. So we tried other dishes on the menu. It's our 1st time NOT ordering Chicken Rice.

I went for Chicken Curry Noodle RM4.80. I like. Not too spicy. Came with chicken meat, tauhu & long beans le... Not bad.

Hubby got Kueh Tiau Tomato RM4.80. Got a thumbs up from hubby. My sugar cane drink was refreshing while hubby's Barley was not sweeeet enuf. Drinks here are a bit pricey at RM2 to RM2.50.

Well, we'll b back to try out other dishes except on SUNDAY as parking is a bitch with the church just next door.

The Lam Place Beef Noodle

Before Christina (Girl, u look so energetic & youthful with that hair-cut) went back to Kedah, we met up & had lunch @ The Lam Place Beef Noodle.

One of my favorite place for Beef Noodle or Kueh Tiau. The 1st branch was at Chonglin Park (opposite Lin Hua San). And now to my utter delight it's at Jln Song 88 Precint wohoooo... so near to my house. I've been goin there once per week since it open recently.

The nicely decorated interior. And the air-con is WORKING perfectly unlike the 1 at Chonglin Park.

Ah... My Beef Noodle RM6 (Raw Beef + Tendon) & Milk Tea with Pearl RM3.80 that's new in the menu.

There are Beef Balls too... has a crunchy bite to it, assuring you that's there's no flour making up it's bulk. But I still prefer the thin slice of beef (they call it raw beef here although it's cook). They got Beef Redang too & hubby like that.Sometimes when I wan t eat something spicy then I'll get the Beef Laksa RM5.Some don like the soup here as it's sweeter than normal but I JUST LOVED IT! I would b happier if less people eat here so that the place is not crowded & my food come faster hehehhe... but don go bankrupt la.

Now got promotion, between 9 to 11am can eat Beef Noodle (DRY) for only RM3.80

The annual event is BACK! Food food food @ Kuching Festival... yum yum. But this year with Swine flu flying around & the terrible haze, alot of people are reluctant to be out here, including me. I've waited until it rained & only went yesterday...
These BUNs are great, RM4.50 for 3. "Sen Jien Pau" (steam then fried) from Imperial Duck.Must BUY item is the Taiwan Sausage & Sio Bee RM2 per stick...My fav is Pepper flavor Taiwan Sausage from Double Dragon.My cousin is operating a stall there too...

Must try ooo... very yummylicious. I loved CHEESE the most... I've tried 3 flavor, 7 to go hehehhe...

As a post birthday treat, a mini-get-away was planned. We arrived ~2pm @ Damai Puri Resort & Spa. I stood around for ~15 minutes before it was my turn and it was only 1 person ahead of me. I've never evar took so long in checking-in to a so-called 5 STAR hotel. The staff took quite a while checking my booking. Then after wasting another 10 minutes of my precious time, I was informed the hotel was fully booked yesterday, so we cannot checked in until 3pm if we want a clean room. So I request for a upgraded room, from Superior Rainforest-view room to a Deluxe Sea-view Room... and got it... huuuuurraaaay

While the cleaning lady do their job, we found our self a good spot under these coconut trees...
Armed with 2 bottle of cold Spritz, a pack of cool grapes...

plus some magazine, and we are set.

We got to our room by 3pm. This chair caught my attention. It's so cute at a corner. I ask hubby to bring it home with us hahahahah...

2 chairs for us to lounge around but it was so HOT I quickly closed the glass door & stayed indoor hahaah

Reading lazily on the bed... hubby was super happy as the wifi connection was superb. Even got huge LCD TV in the room.

As a true Asian, typically Chinese, we only go out ~ 5pm when it's not so hot & all the ang moh has re-treated to their room... Walk barefoot by the beach, feeling the sand between my toes, swam in the sea (the water was so warm), listening to the waves...

FOOD! I'll start with something more cheerful... I LOVED BUFFET! The rooms came with 2 complimentary buffet breakfast. Here's a happy me enjoying free food!

Now moving on to a more unhappy me... because of the services this hotel staff provide, or the lack of. When we walk into the Restaurant, called Elements, there was no one at the entrance to show us our table. Then we were given the menu, with very limited choices...

We had a hard time getting the waiters attention $%&*^%@! ... after a long time, we finally ordered our food, the waiter said something about bringing the food out at once except for our dessert, I was not paying much attention & just said yes. So after waiting for quite sometime, although not many patrons, the food was served, ALL AT THE SAME TIME! How can appetizer, main course & dessert be served at the same time??!! I asked politely for him to serve the dessert after we finished our meal & he looked puzzled. WTF! The staff are just not educated, totally not equipped for the job.

Our appetizer was Duck Frivosomething (I forgot the name) RM16. It was very nice. I like it a lot.Exceeded my expectation... nice greensHubby ordered Chicken Teriyaki RM24, for a pan fried sweet si-yiu Chicken with vege & garlic rice. Tasted so-so only lar... nothing special just very expensive.I ordered Fish & Chips RM24. Nothing to rave about, but the tartar sauce was nice. The most value for money dessert, Ice-cream of our choice, Vanilla... with lotsa fruits for only RM4.50. We were only expecting a scoop of ice-cream but instead we got strawberry, guava, mango, kiwi, pineapple, jambu & grapes too. It was fun dipping the fruits in the ice-cream & eating it. I will order this if I ever came back.After dinner, we took a walk... It was very quiet & nobody was in sight, feels as if you have the entire place to yourself! What more can one asks for?

Overall I enjoyed this trip, as long as I don hav to deal with the staff there. And please la put a door at the shower area to keep the WC area dry. I wouldn't pay the normal rack rate of RM700+ for the room though. It really wasn't worth that much.

How I spent my birthday?

Now that I got my Wii (hugging it jumping up & down... shouting yipeeee), the only thing that was missing was the game hahahhaha... After a very nice laksa breakfast, we went searching for new ~~& cheap~~ Wii games at Kenyalang (some cheapest in town), Hock Lee Centre (slightly more exp but a lot of choice) & lastly Hong Kuok @ OneTJ (not open although it was 11am wtf).

I had my pampering session @ Slimming Sanctuary... Aromatherapy is good... so relaxing but I can't use at home as hubby find the scent too strong...

Goat Milk's Jacuzzi... yea that's how small the room is... jus enuf space for the tub...

Met up & gossips with frens... over a cup of Milk Tea with Pearl... got a gift, totally loved it... am using it now. There are separate compartment for hand-phone, money & cards.

Went shopping at tHe Spring with my friend whom I've known since primary & became close during our secondary years. She has jus change job & is so much happier now. All the best in ur new company Nicole. Shopping with girls are way more FUN hahah... This is what I got for myself, only sophisticated ladies will know what this is te-hee

Then it was dinner time liaw.... SUSHI PARTY at my grandma's house at Kenyalang. I bought 2 Unagi (Eel) & Tako (baby squid) too... My aunt has started even before I got there. My cousins were so eager in helping out too. They were good at making those rolled sushi that I totally sux at.

The mussels sucks big time..i will rather wait for the next time bro.. which is u cook one.. ><... (by the way, Olinga is a chef in Australia who can make delicious baked ham & cheese mussels... yum yum)the belacan midin was good.. in fact crunchy.. the soup was unexpected.. i din expect it to turn out so nice...with the fish lungs... "hu pio".. the Norwegian sardine also surprised me.. super nice texture and taste.. sweet.. okay bro.. u have to come back to try ya~

Rice is pricey at RM2 (PP RM1.1), Soft drinks are price at RM2.80, no discount. Other drinks are a bit more expensive. With the 50% promotion, the food is quite worth the money... especially with a group of 5 to 6 person that you like to hang out with... Go try it out if you can sneak out for a longer lunch break like us heheheh

No... I'm not talking about the weather, although the stewpig haze is making it feel like it...

175 degrees is a new cafe locate at Padungan area, used to be Tao. The 2nd floor is opened to the public too. Quite a large area for people to dine & have drinks.

Our group consist 4 of us, BoldBoss, SexyLips, SexyBum & me. This group of people very atas one u know, they all drink house wine... while I had carrot juice + milk RM7 hehehhe... THanks boss for the treat!! here we were playing UNO :) I dun really remember the rules but we made it up as we played along... I WON the 1st round le dun pray pray

U know what this atas people were doin??? Sitting around the small pond & looking at their feet. It's actually a new concept: Get a free Fish Spa session while dining here.

Yea, it's free. I quickly took off my socks & dipped my feet into the pond too... but hor... no fish wanna eat my dead skin le. Felt so left out... BoldBoss was so ticklish he kept controlling his laughter... I think my feet DUN HAV DEAD SKIN or it was too STINKY that all fishes swim away hai...According to SexyBum, there are way more fishes in a REAL Fish Spa, so that the fishes are hungry for your dead skin. But this is just a mini fish spa for patrons to experience it... the sensation when the fish suck at your feet "very high" le... The fish only gav me face when all other feet were gone. We were even given towel to wipe dry our leg when we were done.

I would be back to try their food, the price looks very reasonable (mid-range). They served western food.

Kaya & Toast

I was missing half boiled egg & toast, so off we headed to KAYA & TOAST la... no better place to get these. Went to the branch at Pertanak.

emmm... yummy 2 Half Boiled Egg RM2.00... best to slurp it down with lotsa pepper & soy sauce.Toast with Kaya RM1.60... i like this as it's very crispy....

and FULL of KAYA goodness... must eat while it's still warmThe coffee was only 70cent per cup le, very cheap le... I got the French Toast too (RM2)... but a bit weird lor as it goes with kaya... usually I just the french toast on it self. Hubby got the usual Nasi Lemak.

Now got this card where u collect the chop & get FREE FOOD! Just spend RM10 to get a chop. Collect 8 to get Nasi Lemak Special (RM6.90), Curry Mee (RM5.90) or Sausage French Toast (dunno $) for free.

I got to read current news for FREE too as they provide newspaper... I din know so many politician are dying causing a lot of by-elections o_O"

We kinda ask BoldBoss (yes... he will always be my BoldBoss even if he betrayed all of us & left us for $ingapore) to "chia" us, his super hardworking & ultra loyal kaki tangan which include SexyLips, SexyBumJanet & of coz me lar, since he will b goin away soooooon... sob sob

SexyLips picked us all up ~7 pm-ish & headed to 101 Premier Commercial Centre for Grilled FISH hehehehe... yup, I just had it yesterday hehehe... but I dun mind la... BoldBoss belanja bo

1st up was this clam... very special le... got toppings & lime juice in each individual shell... But veli kiam-siap le... he ordered 5 nia

But 5 BIG ASS CLAM, biggest that I evar saw! The finger there is just for you to judge how BIG the clam was. The clam taste great! I like it a lot. The meat's texture was perfect. BoldBoss wanted to ta pau the shell back.

2nd dish : Belacan Midin... same as yesterday. It's so good I dun mind eating it EVERYDAY :)

3rd dish : Grilled Sardine ~RM20 (SexyLips added that it's imported one). I was afraid it will taste fishy but fortunately it just TASTED GOOD! And taste even more awesome with the sambal they provide. It's really good the SAMBAL, asked for MORE!

4th dish : Steamed Fish Fillet ~RM20, clear soup with cabbage, white spongy thingy & tomato. Fell in lov with it. I JUST LUV the SOUP!

5th dish : Steamed Fish Tom Yam Style, ~RM40, slightly expensive due to the special fish heheheh. This one I was expecting it to be REALLY GOOD as the cook SELF PRAISED that it's "HO CHIAK". But... hmmm... the soup was just SOURISH & SPICY, doesn't taste like tom yam le... too sour that SexyBumJanet kena gastric by eating it le. Good news was there was brinjal & lady fingers in it, which I loved. The taste kinda grow on me... but I still liked the clear soup more.As it was still quite early after dinner, BoldBoss request for 2nd round... so we went to a place with this lighting... Tau mana kah?

Yup, STARBUCKS at Jln Song! I had Frapuccino as usual, Caramel Cream with Chocolate Chips tops with Whipped Cream... emmm... emmmm... emmm...
BoldBoss was crying sadly & telling us he REGRET leaving us & hav not even bought the ticket to $ingapore yet although he wanna leave in like 4 days time... hahahah... just kidding lar... but the part about not buying ticket is true, see subconsciously he's just not ready to leave us yet.

I was surprise so many people were there... on a weekday le... Seee..... Kuching where got hit by recession? For me, I only visit Starbucks to buy the packet ground coffee, started making my own Cappuccino at home to save money. This was my 1st trip to the upper floor...very tastefully decorated. The fake ceilings, the lighting, the color of the wall.... all very well co-ordinate.

Borneo something Grilled FIsh

Heard from SexyLips that the grilled fish stall, called BORNEO **something**, near McD has moved to 101 Premier Commercial Centre, so off we went in search of this stall as many people has recommended it. It was easy to find, just look for the place that's crowded with people eating grilled or steamed fish hahahahah....

We got 2 dishes & 2 bowl of steam white rice, only 2 of us lor... cannot order much.

Sambal Belancan Midin... so fresh & crunchy, likey a lot...

Sambal Fish (o-pek or black-white fish), RM18. When he took it out from the freezer, I told him it was too big but that was smallest fish they had. Anyway, we managed to finish everything as it was GOOD.Grilled to perfection. THE SAMBAL WAS AWESOME!

What a satisfying dinner! Was so surprise was it only cost us RM21 for this awesome dinner. We will definitely be back for more!

Asian Recipe Cafe

Asian Recipe @ 101 Premier Commercial Centre, just next to PosLaju. The place is with air-con & decorate nicely. Warm ambiance... which currently is a hot trend in Kuching eatery where wooden furniture is used, wooden decorative is used as wall features & stuff...

Our drink, Ice Lemon Tea & 3 layer Tea. Can guess how much per cup??RM3.50 per cup le... for drinks such as ICE LEMON TEA!! So ridiculous la... man I did not notice they serve plain water @ 20cent or I would hav ordered that as the tea not nice at all. wa$ted.
WOW.... the TOM YAM SOUP RM8 was served in a HUGE BOWL... I was really surprised. There was prawn, fish, squid & tomato in the soup. Quite cheap le. But for me, the soup was too SOUR & not flavorful enuf. Can only giv a B-Pineapple Fried Rice RM5.50 was a disaster. Once I whiffed the curry powder from the rice I knew it was gonna be bad. As we shared this, I scoop half of it to my plate & saw that I left a trail of oil stains on hubby's plate. It tasted nothing like Pineapple Fried Rice. Disappointed.The last dish was this ASAM PRAWN RM16, as I was yearning for something sour, something spicy, something explosive. I was like, OH YES! they are making up for the disappointment of earlier 2 dishes by given us A PLATE FULL OF PRAWN! ~ 8 to 10 medium size prawn le.BUT it was SWEEEEEEEET. The sauce was STICKY & THICK. HOW CAN YOU CALL IT ASAM PRAWN when I DON TASTE ANYTHING LIKE ASAM AT ALL???!!! TASTE LIKE SUGAR NIA. U know how we always savor the sauce that wrap around the prawn & even lick it off... hahahh.... but here I was scrapping it away to that I can eat the meat without the sauce lor.Overall, the food was below my expectation. Sigh... and here I tot got somewhere new & cheaper to satisfy my Tom Yam craving. man... wish I'm rich where I can hopped on a plane & fly to Thailand for TOM YAM whenever I wan...

Boldboss finally G.O.N.E

When my BoldBoss announced that he was leaving us for good, I was in denial. I just could not believe it. I cannot accept it. How can he leave us??!! But after hearing him out, it's just NOT FAIR that we blame him for chasing after his DREAMS... but still... he went into the Infamous LIST.... Can you spot yourself, traitors????Since he was VELI FAMOUS in our department, there was not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 farewell dinner organized for him...

Monday: 1st dinner was with the group of PAEs (the LIFE BLOOD of Line Sustaining) who really loved him to bits, as BoldBoss really help them through thick & thin. I did not join them as I hav prior appointment & missed out on it.

Tuesday: 2nd was dinner at Mr. Ho's Fine Food at Crown Towers. A small group of us, so-called "old" people with our Director, who was once our Module Manager... We used the private room which was supposed to be smoke free but instead it was SMOKE-FULL as NO DOOR separating it from outside @##$%^^%@#$. Nevertheless, it was a nice dinner. I really enjoyed the food. And the plan to get our director DRUNK enuf to spilled some juicy gossip failed...

SexyLips was a real gentleman & bought a 1.5l of Sparkling Grape Juice for me as I do not drink wine. Yea, I'm lucky to hav him as my best bud. But as I was the only 1 drinking it, with some help from Wilron mama (who dare not drink much as the sugar contain was 40g per 500ml)... I almost die of SUGAR Poisoning lor...

Wednesday: The 3rd dinner was at Chia Heng Restaurant, behind Hock Lee Centre, fully paid by our Module Manager, Mr Kang JT. BoldBoss was his lifeline, his heart. I pray for JT to get a new heart transplant soon... here's BoldBoss trying hard to b cute!Thurday: The 4th was a dinner at Da-Om Korean BBQ Restaurant... YUM YUM YUM! A lot of 3 layer pork which I liked. It was again a small group of us "old" people with the EQP Section Manager, Mr. Lee MG, who belanja us. We bought a leather bag for BoldBoss as he's gonna need it in S'pore to carry a lot of tissue paper to wipe his tears missing us all in Kuching.

As a last momento from the office, I got almost every1 ( in our department) to write something for BoldBoss. Some were really funny. Some were begging to tag along. Some were angry. Some were threatening him, but MOSTLY we told him NOT TO FORGET US and what a GREAT BOSS he has been & will surely be missed!

Now that you are not here anymore at your table... I really miss you! I dun hav any1 to bug. I dun hav any1 to turn to when I need to troubleshoot some problem. No ears to listen to those ridiculous question. I dun hav a boss to bully. How am I gonna survived this?

Deviled Eggs Recipe

omg... i totally forgot that I promised some1 to post up the recipe for Deviled Eggs since CHINESE NEW YEAR haahahahahah....

The Deviled Eggs are simple to make & always the 1st to disappear. What follows is a basic recipe that I found from uncle Google.

I don't have a lot of stuff as listed in the ingredients so I substitute a lot of stuff & make my own version of Deviled Eggs hehehhe... it's up to your imagination...

Method

1 First hard boil the eggs. Cover the eggs with at least an inch of water. Add a pinch of salt to the water. Bring the water to a boil. Cover, and remove from heat. Let sit covered for 12-15 minutes. Drain hot water from pan and run cold water over the eggs. (At this point if you crack the egg shells while the eggs are cooling, it will make it easier to peel the shells.)

2 Peel the eggs. Using a sharp knife, slice each egg in half, lengthwise ooo. Gently remove the yolk halves and place in a small mixing bowl. Arrange the egg white halves on a serving platter.

3 Using a fork, mash up the yolks and add mustard, mayonnaise, onion, Tabasco, and a sprinkling of salt and pepper. Spoon egg yolk mixture into the egg white halves. Sprinkle with paprika. Makes 2 dozen deviled eggs.

If you like celery, chopped them into small pieces & mixed in together with the yolk.... As I don hav Tabasco, I substitute it with Maggi Curry noodle soup mix hhahahahah... it was AWESOME!

If you want them to be a little prettier, put the egg filling into a freezer bag, make a cut off of one corner of the bag, and pipe them into the egg white halves.

Try it for your next party!

Taiwan Sausages

Saw these frozen Taiwan Sausages at the cold storage next to Unaco @ Stutong. The cold storage sell "NON HALAL" stuff one... every single part of the pig available... pack nicely with description in 2 languages, Chinese & English. The Taiwan Sausages came in 3 flavors, original, spicy & garlic... a packet of 5 ~RM6. Instant Defrost using microwave & fried over slow flame... as recommended by the seller hehehhe... YUM YUM!
BTW, Kuching Festival gonna start soon! Food Food FOOD!

Little Cottage
